What changes between SD and MG

Different sizes, different intents. Super Deformed is the quick, cheap, big-headed build with tons of personality and almost no fiddly steps. Master Grade is the 1/100 enthusiast kit with a full inner frame and the size to paint and detail properly. SD is the palette-cleanser; MG is the project. Pick by whether you want a fun afternoon or a proper build to sink into.

The verdict

Get the SD if

you want a quick, cheap, characterful build with loads of personality, or a fun one that a kid can put together without getting frustrated.

Get the MG if

you want size, a full inner frame, and the room to panel line, paint, and pose the suit properly. It is the enthusiast sweet spot and the grade most builders grow into.

We have built and graded both: the SD scored 8.6 and the MG scored 7.2 out of 10. Read the full reviews above for the detail behind the numbers.
